In prime location on the seafront, West Beach has to be one the hippest restaurants in Bournemouth. Beautifully decorated in serene white and cream, with an open kitchen and a leisurely sofa area to lounge in as you drool over the menu. Talented chef Ed Blanchard has made fish the main emphasis on the menu and the quality is superb, as is the eye-catching presentation. Desserts are also a must. Booking is essential during summer weekends when the view is nothing less than spectacular.

Coriander

Coriander is a typical Mexican restaurant offering all the traditional favourites including nachos, fajitas and burritos along with a good choice of beers and generous jugs of Margaritas. A popular venue for parties with good value set menus for groups of eight or more.

Pacific Bar and Restaurant (01202 765445)
The Pacific’s award-winning chef produces top class Thai dishes in its relaxed and modern restaurant. Starters well worth sampling include the excellent ton-sum-rub, a tasty combination platter for two or the equally delicious Thai soups. For mains great choices include minced stir-fried chicken with chilli, garlic and basil or roast duck with honey.

Set in a conservatory style restaurant Valentino prides itself on offering fine Italian cuisine in friendly surroundings. The menu lists all the usual pasta and pizza favourites alongside a great selection of speciality fish and meat dishes, all of which can be washed down by one of the well chosen, affordable Italian wines from the wine list.

Mr Pang’s

Mr Pang’s is generally considered to be the finest Chinese restaurant in the area with a string of loyal local customers returning time after time. The menu is made up on a selection of Cantonese, Peking, Szechwan and Chinese dishes, so you’re sure to find something to tempt you. The atmosphere is relaxed but busy so be sure to book in advance.
